Gap and Quality-Control Report for Logger Data
ProA record with 94% completeness and a record with one three-week outage are different records, and a monthly average cannot tell them apart. This finds every gap, every stuck sensor and every implausible jump, and reports the recovery rate that belongs in the methods section.

Synthetic hourly field-station record, 20 February to 30 April 2026, with two faults built into it on purpose: a 60-hour logger outage in March, and a soil-moisture probe repeating its last reading for two days in April while the rows around it stay perfectly regular. Not measured data.

Multiples of the interval. 1.5 catches a single dropped reading; 2 ignores it.
Shorter gaps still count against completeness — they are just not drawn as bands.
Flatlines
A heuristic, not a standard. 12 is one hour of five-minute data. Raise it for a slow-moving quantity.
In the channel’s own units. Zero means bit-identical, which is what a stuck sensor produces.
Spikes
The textbook MAD outlier screen uses 3.5. This defaults to 6 because a QC report of ten thousand candidates finds nothing.
